The Joyce Dutka Arts Foundation, Inc. (JDAF), is continuing its mission to support the arts by rewarding both talented artists and small underfunded arts groups. JDAF was founded ten years ago with a bequest from Dr. Solomon Dutka, Ph.d. Each year we sponsored competitions in different fields: dance choreography, playwriting, visual art, instrumental and vocal music. Judges who excelled in the chosen fields selected the finalists who would then perform for a gala audience and receive a monetary prize. Our mission supported talented artists already on the way toward successful careers
This year, 2010, in view of the dire economic situation faced by all arts groups, the JDAF will focus solely on outreach grants. Without a gala, we will be able to help many more deserving applicants. The board will continue to review each application, and the petitioners (artists or community arts groups) will receive a definitive answer. (See Grant Applications)
Friends of the JDAF join the board on JDAF outings. They are the first notified of our (docent-led) trips to museums, educational institutions, private art collections, theaters and concerts. Please let us know if you wish to be placed on our email list.
We are a 501 (C)(3) non for profit organization. Tax deductions for contributions are given to the full extent of the law.
