The Joyce Dutka Arts Foundation, Inc. (JDAF) was established in 1999 with a bequest from Solomon Dutka. JDAF's mission is to promote, sponsor, cultivate, foster and develop public interest, understanding and love of the arts. Each year the JDAF will focus on at least one discipline in the arts. The focus for the inaugural year, 1999-2000, was music, the second year was on dance, the third was visual arts, the fourth was playwriting, the fifth was vocalists, the sixth was visual arts, "Works on Paper", and the seventh was opera and arts songs.

In 2006 JDAF is sponsoring an Instrumental Competition for piano, strings, and woodwinds. Cash prizes will be presented at a Gala Concert at the Liederkranz Club on May 4, 2007 featuring competition award winners.
